Nati Knobler Nati Knobler is an 18-year-old senior in high school. He has lived in the United States since he was 5 and over his childhood he has developed a deep passion for politics, issues related to social justice, and history. In this paper he crafts a piece that shows the intersection of politics, social justice, and history in the context of the black community. Dani Leshgold Dani Leshgold started writing poetry when she was thirteen. She loves creative writing and wants to pursue it in college and life. She believes that writing is the most candid form of communication and can easily connect people. She also has always loved stories and storytelling because she can get wrapped up in it very quickly. Sophie Levy Sophie Levy often refers to herself as “a poet who writes fiction” and spends more time thinking about writing than actually doing it. Her love for writing is matched by her love for reading and theater, as they all share the general strand of being an outlet for storytelling. Sophie primarily considers herself to be a storyteller. She is also a sister, daughter, activist, student, and friend. William Lewis William Lewis been interested in film for the entirety of his high school writing a short screenplay provided the perfect medium. As an observer of the cinematic art form, the films that inspired the writing process include Farris Bueller Day Off, Heathers, Pulp Fiction, American Beauty, Barton Fink and Adaptation. Jackeline Lopez-Ruiz Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jackeline Abigail Lopez-Ruiz has always been surrounded by a rich Mexican culture. She shares a passion for reading and listening to storytellers from her community. Her other interests include painting, annoying her younger brother and sister, and napping with her dog, Max. A caring and ambitious individual, she’s ready to head off to college in the fall of 2017.
