Our Wildwood, Summer 2019, Volume 45
FENWAY PARK: At this year’s Fenway Park—where 5th graders battle faculty and staff in a game of baseball (played with tennis balls and rackets), the 5th graders prevailed for the fifth year in a row! MULTICULTURAL FAMILY STORY NIGHT: This cherished Wildwood tradition reminds us that we are all connected. GRANDPARENTS AND SPECIAL FRIENDS DAY: Grandparents and Special Friends Day welcomed more than 350 visitors to the elementary campus. EARTH DAY & TRASHION SHOW: The Earth Day All School Meeting featured the Trashion Show, which showcased students’ ingenuity as they modeled garments from upcycled materials. WORLD LEADERSHIP FORUM: Inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the first student-led World Leadership Forum highlighted Wildwood School’s commitment to multicultural and global citizenship work. AUTHOR VISITS: Best-selling author of Spy School and Moon Base Alpha Stuart Gibbs and graphic novelists of 442 Koji Sakai and Phinneas Kiyomura shared their process and passion for writing and illustrating. GARDENPALOOZA: Our greenest party of the year brought together more than 400 K-12 community and incoming families for an afternoon of live music from student bands, food trucks, a photo booth, rock-climbing wall, and eco-friendly crafts.
