Figure 32 . An example of the code in the crontab. 3.10.3 Image Storage and Query

Files are transferred from the Raspberry Pi using FTP (file transfer protocol) via FileZilla once per week and stored on a 13” Macbook Air 2017. To initiate an FTP requires a static ip address, the username (in this case Pi), the password of your Raspberry Pi (default is raspberry), and the port number. For the port to work, you need to “SNAT” the port to the Pi. (SNAT - Secure Network Address Transfer). To do this, the local IT Department had to open the port. As of now, the images are separated by the time of day they were taken. As the database grows, we would like it to be searchable by the public. We began a collaboration with WISRD’s Principal Investigator for their Systems Integration Lab to outline the functionality of such a database. We would want the database to grow as we add additional sensors such as temperature and salinity. The goal would be for users to be able to search the database using a combination of search parameters and allow users to input comments to the database. During an initial meeting, we outlined the basics of a graphical user interface that is shown in Figure 33.
