Marcia Capparela and Tehya Kopp ‘80 (elementary)—helping to build this school became Marcia’s life’s work.

Wildwood is founded by Belle and Stefan Mason with a group of like-minded educators and parents. Temporary, original campus opens on Overland Avenue near Pico Boulevard.

Wildwood becomes a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with Dr. Ollie Winheim as director and president of a five-member Board of Trustees.

Wildwood holds its first All School Meeting. 78

The Masons are joined by Dr. James Gardner of Siskin Corp. Campus moves to 3111 Olympic Boulevard near Centinela. Narrative assessments are implemented in lieu of report cards.

Dr. Oliver Winheim purchases Wildwood Elementary from Siskin Corp.

1971 ENROLLMENT: 15 STUDENTS

1974 ENROLLMENT: 50-60 STUDENTS
